End-Times prophecies seriously, December 21, 2012

“If we are to take the End-Times prophecies seriously, December 21, 2012 is the date that will mark the end of recorded history. But until we reach it, no rational person will claim they know what will happen. Either it will be the end of civilization as we know it, or the latest in a long list of hoaxes perpetuated upon humanity. For either reason, it is a day that will live in infamy because we will either be ill-prepared for the events of that day or we would have prepared for nothing. Should we take it seriously, or recognize it may be another over-hyped non-event?”

Consider the garden, plants and animals die, they are composted and new life begins. Even if the world as we know it ends in 2012, there will be a new world to follow. I'm optimistic.
As far as planning for it, that's another story....

Thanks for your thoughtful remarks. More people should take that attitude. Unfortunately it is not a 'profitable' position. Just a sensible one. That's the rub.
