The Rapture, End-of-Days
“The Rapture is perhaps the most enigmatic image of the End-of-Days. Imagining the Son of God descending from heavens to rescue 144,000 souls from the Day of Judgment makes a formidable impression. According to tradition, it is only the faithful that will qualify for salvation. The remainder of humanity will suffer through the Tribulation. What better way could be conceived for dispensing justice to those who need to be judged? The question that it raises in my mind is: who is it that decides who the ‘faithful’ are and why is the number, 144,000?”

Both the Christ Consciousness and Anti-Christ Consciousness
“Both the Christ Consciousness and Anti-Christ Consciousness are forces which inhabit the soul of Man. The so-called battle of Armageddon is representative of the internal conflict between ‘good’ and ‘evil’. As long as Man has existed this struggle has. Once the End-Times prophecies exploded on the scene, it is no longer confined to a ‘personal’ confrontation. End-Times prophecy externalizes this conflict and expands it to a global scale, and bills it as the final battle of ‘good’ against ‘evil’. Does it speak to our desire to conquer the dark-side of human nature, or a ‘Madison Avenue’ job to ramp the clash up to global proportions?”
